Carved by Victor Hahner from solid ash wood, this Paravent is shaped entirely by hand. The surface is finished using the traditional Yakisugi technique, enhancing the natural texture and depth of the wood. As light moves across the carved surface, the appearance of the object changes with the viewer’s perspective. Rather than simply dividing a space, the Paravent creates different views and spatial relationships.
