Victor Hahner (born in 1993, lives and works in Halle an der Saale, Germany) moves between art and design without clearly subordinating himself to either discipline. Instead, he uses the openness of this intermediate space to ask questions and connect worlds and perceptions.
He studied jewelry and object design at the Pforzheim University of Design, where his studies in gold and silversmithing taught him to combine traditional craftsmanship with his artistic expression. From the beginning of his studies, Victor followed his intuition and worked in atypical scales and combinations of materials and techniques, detached from the limitations of jewelry design.
In 2019, he began working for Valentin Loellmann. His work as Valentin's assistant strengthened his sense of design and taught him a great deal. Here, he worked on international interior design projects in Paris, London, and Amsterdam, as well as on sculptural works and furniture.
Inspired by materials and craftsmanship, he established his own studio, where he creates unique pieces in the fields of functional art and sculptural furniture. Victor equates the sculptural statement of his work with function and explores our handling and relationship with the objects, furniture, and works of art that surround us. Through material, feel, and shape, he aims to create a conscious handling and appreciation for the objects that form our everyday life.
